Huawei has launched the Mate 8 which people are calling as the company’s “most advanced flagship smartphone.” It has a 6″ FHD IPS display and sports an octa-core Kirin 950 SoC and a Mali T880MP4 GPU. This device is available in both, 3GB and 4GB variants.
The Kirin 950 is quite powerful too, it comes with four high-power Cortex-A72 cores clocked at up to 2.3 GHz and an additional four power-saving Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The SoC is manufactured using TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process.
For the shooters, the phone has a Sony IMX298 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The device is made up of aerospace-grade aluminum and 2.5D curved diamond cut glass and a fingerprint sensor present on the back of the phone. And for the juice, the device has a big 4000mAh battery which can run your device for a whole 1 day. Software wise, this device runs on EMUI 4.0 which is based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.
The phone will be available in 3 variants, 3GB RAM/32GB ROM at $480, 4GB RAM/64GB ROM at $590 and 4GB RAM/128GB ROM at $700. Colors available are: Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray, and Mocha Brown. The Mate 8 is only available in China for now.
