Qualcomm today has made its next and the latest generation of SoC, the Snapdragon 820 official in an event in New York City. We didn’t knew much of what it’ll bring with itself but now, the specs have been officially released.
The Snapdragon 820 has new modems, enabling X12 LTE with Cat 12 downlink speeds of up to 600Mbps and also supports 3×20 MHz Carrier Aggregation, and Cat 13 uplink speed of up to 150Mbps with the support for 64-QAM, or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. The SoC supports camera rigs up to 28MP and 4K UHD capture and playback, as well as 4K display support. It also consists of the Adreno 530 GPU with a quad-core custom 64-bit Qualcomm Kryo CPU.
And as we said in the previous post about the Snapdragon 820 SoC today, it will also have the Quick Charge 3.0 support. We are really eager to see how this SoC will roar in phones, let’s just hope that it does not overheat, as claimed by Qualcomm.
